I am sitting in bed, ready to fall over. I was trying to post two poems side by side, but that is too hard this late. Its 1AM and we got home about an hour and half ago from Chris and Susan's. They are moving to Seattle in April and asked us to take care of their very substantial succulent collection and the stray cat they took in a couple months back.
They are going to both turn out to be amazing gifts. Frankly, I have been a little more enamored to the plants. They are a beautiful collection of extremely healthy, strong and beautiful plants. They are all in great pottery; a definite upgrade from some of ours.
There must be 20 large plants in Beth's car right now. I am looking forward to unloading them. I will post pictures tomorrow. I also tomorrow have to write a 6 - 10 page paper before we go out to a show. I didn't work on it at all today as I was planning. Yard work took longer than I suspected. I want the yard and pool to be in tip-top shape for Omar's visit next week and Beth's dad's visit the week following.
Chris and Susan are so generous to give us the plants. They did a great job growing and nurturing the plants. Its obvious they put a lot of time and energy into their care. They are some of the most beautiful personal plants I have seen. I feel a lot of responsibility to treat them just as well. It is one of the most special gifts I have received. It is very very sweet of them and I will continue to say thank you ever chance I get.
Alright, as much as I would like to keep writing, but I am falling asleep.
Goodnight. I love you.
