While cleaning this morning I listened to the Diane Rehm show. She had an amazing interview with John Updike about his new book. The author was able to give such great descriptions of the characters and their thoughts, motivations, relationships, worldviews, it was amazing. It sounds like a solid plot with great character development and lots of cool characters. I thought the author was a little didactic (3. Inclined to teach or moralize excessively) in some of his character descriptions and his assessment of some current affairs, but on the whole it seems like it will be a pretty darn good book with hopefully a lot of layers. My next book for sure:
11:00John Updike: "Terrorist" (Knopf)The award-winning writer presents his twenty-second novel. The book plucks its subject from the headlines as it explores the psychology behind young recruits to terrorism.
