A post from the playa

From someone in the middle of the Nevada desert prepping the Burning Man site:

In a few hours, the DPW will gather on a playa empty save for marker flags and an octagon marking the man. We will come armed with a breakfast at 5:30 am, 30 lb. post pounders slung over shoulders, and all our compadres ready to pound 9 miles of fence to form BRC. This is one of the hardest, funnest, best and worst days of this ritual known as building black rock city. For 9 miles, we will walk, pick up 6' T-stakes, and pound them deep into the playa. After the circle is complete, we will walk the same distance and tie orange trash fence to each stake. Countless knots will be created, boundaries of our physical and mental selves will be abandoned as we prepare the space to hold our city-state. As soon as we finish this pentagon, the BLM will allow us to move onto playa.

=)

Hee hee, burning man is coming...
