I haven't blogged all day in a while. It is fun, but there are other life priorities.
Like today, I called in sick to work, so I technically it would be okay to blog all day. I taught spin this morning and last night, hey I need a rest day!
So, here is my idea of a "rest day": completing work on a couple UW programs from my UW laptop, then meeting Jessica for lunch, then going to Landis, the library and the grocery store, before coming home to clean.
And, a possible run to the airport:
Beth's friend Christie is flying in from MI this weekend and I was scheduled to pick her up at 5:55 tonight. However, her flight may be delayed due to inclement weather. If it is delayed Beth will travel with me to the airport.
We are both excited about Christie's visit, she is a wonderful person. I was looking forward to picking her up, and it will be fun if Beth joins me. Either way, I will go, but a delayed flight may mean time to blog!
The good news for Christie is the cold front sweeping right now through the plain states will be out of here tomorrow, headed east towards the midwest. The midwest received a lot of snow today and flights are delayed. The eastern plain states received even more snow then the midwest, so there are more airports closed in places like Dallas, where they are having a lot of delays. (I heard all this on NPR). Hopefully Christie will leave on time.
Anyway, the cold dry air is making its way into states like Michigan where Christie lives. Whether she gets out on time or not, and I hope she does, she will fly over the cold front and land in 70 degree temperatures. Lucky her!
Her three days here can be spent enjoying the winter Desert weather: the mild temperatures with a hint of chill mixed with the warm sun, mmm perfect. I hope she is looking forward to it as much as me!
Okay, so what does all of that have to do with my point above about not having time to blog? Well, I decided, since I may not have time to blog today, to jot down notes on scratch paper when a blog idea comes to my head. Like the Christie/weather thing; I decided to get that one done, it seemed to fit.
Anyway, here are my notes so far, "NPR or Wash Post, story on Iraq, add DR show (I was on the DR show last week), weather."
And on the more personal side, "I finally have faith people love me right now, it is tomorrow I am scared of", "I haven't had holy moments (i.e. meditation,Enneagram) in a while. Funny how those happen when I am quiet.", "I love our life, it is mine I am nervous about."
Most important, "follow your breath, all day and meditate." That one I am just going to do, not worry about posting.
Well that is it for now, I am off to my day; I needed a day to take care of myself a little. I am transitioning into a new role at UW, thinking about adopting and hoping to begin grad school. I am coming off of the busiest, longest, hardest terms of my working life, and I am a little tired.
When I get tired I "feel" my emotions more. When I am tired my feelings can be hard to manage and I occasionally get depressd.
The good news is I feel "good" today. I am going to try to enjoy feeling good, be productive, meet my obligations, take care of myself and maybe blog.
I hope I have time to turn all my ideas into posts. If I don't have time to write them, oh well, I would rather live them.
Either way, tomorrow, I will have to choose from many more; I hope they are good ones! =)
Have a great day!

When we are tired or stressed, the essence of us is amplified.
